Vehicle Description

1989 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Eddie Bauer opened a tennis store in 1920 at the age of 21. Not long after, he developed and sold golf clubs and fishing tackle. After developing hypothermia on a winter fishing trip, he began designing light weight alternatives to heavy wool winter wear, which had been the standard. As a result, he patented the first quilted down jacket and 20 other outdoor items. He retired in 1968, but the company thrived, and he saw the first cross promotion with Ford take place with the 1984 Bronco. For consignment, a 1989 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer with a title verified 151,918 actual miles. This is one of those co-branded Fords that's been under active restoration since last year, with lots of interior, exterior and mechanical improvements. Exterior Like a western gunslinger, this one's decked out is solid black, Raven Black to be exact, and that includes the cap. The boxy styling is also what gives this rig its rugged looks, and if you don't think square edges work, take a look at G-wagon sales and the emergence of today's Grenadier and the history of boxy trucks in military application. Wide mirrors extend the vehicle's width and a full sized spare mounted on the back extends its length, both necessities of utility! Before a restyle would integrate the headlights, they still face forward on the brick nose with marker lights taking their position on the corners. 15-inch wheels carry LT rated tires with a late 2025 date code and these all terrain meats are capable of challenging ascensions. Imperfections on the exterior include paint inclusions throughout, occasional scratches, slight blistering, and bubbling on a rear quarter. It's missing the Eddie Bauer designation but our consignor has the emblem on order. Interior Nice contrast is found with the Chestnut interior beginning on the door panels which have a softness to them that forecast the eventual adoption of luxury interiors and both doors show some age and a broken pull handle on the passenger side. Cloth seats have a band of embroidered pine trees to remind you of Ford's roots and intentions with the Bronco and both bucket seats and the rear bench are in nice shape with some slightly mismatched bottoms that have been replaced up front. Up front, a basic steering wheel fronts a simple instrument cluster while the center stack is contained in a slightly canted box and includes the A/C panel and updated Alpine AM/FM/CD/USB radio. The carpet is thick and clean below and the new headliner looks great against some aged visors up top. A WeatherTech mat covers the vast rear cargo area along with some decorative mats in a clean environment. Drivetrain Here we have a 5.8 liter V8 with electronic fuel injection and 210 horsepower mated to an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission. Power goes to the Ford 8.8 rear and 3.08 gears at both axles. Undercarriage The body has been undercoated but there is some typical surface rust showing through on an otherwise clean and dry underside. A single exhaust flows through a stock style muffler and exits through a steel pipe while power brakes are divided as front disc and rear drum. Suspension includes radius arms and coil springs up front and leaf springs in back. Drive-Ability A push button start brings the venerable 5.8 liter to life and we roll the knobby tires onto the test loop where the truck tracks straight and runs well. You sit high so visibility is elevated and the cabin is roomy and bright. All functions on this well sorted steed work as they should and we've got the perfect spot for this Bronco in our truck room! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Here's a good looking, black on brown Bronco that's among the most desirable vehicles in the collector market. It's nice to have a show vehicle that is also a capable extreme weather escape truck
